July 2007:

Garlich Printing Company Becomes FSC Certified

Garlich Printing is pleased to announce that it has received Chain of Custody (COC) Certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). This certification guarantees that Garlich Printing’s work processes handle paper used for printing from a responsibly managed forest in a manner that faithfully maintains the identity of the paper through to the end product. The FSC is an international organization that brings people together and sets standards to find solutions which promote responsible stewardship of the world's forests. Focusing on environmental, social and economic aspects of responsible forest management has resulted in 90 million hectares of forests in more than 82 countries becoming certified. For more information on the Forest Stewardship Council please visit www.fscus.org.

Garlich Printing strives to maintain the highest environmental standards in our industry. Our commitment to obtaining FSC certification is an example of our dedication to conserving the environment. Along with FSC certification Garlich Printing also does on-site recycling of waste paper, aluminum plates and solvents. In addition to recycling, all of our presses are equipped with the Accel Sentinel Ink Management System, which maximizes the reduction of ink waste and as a quality enhancement in color control.

June 2007:

Garlich Printing Company Advances in the Area of Digital Print Technology

Garlich Printing is pleased to announce the recent purchase of a new digital press. The HP Indigo Press 5000 offers full color digital printing, up to 6 colors, with a true offset look, feel, and quality. The HP Indigo also offers advanced color personalization technology. With these full color variable data features Garlich can now offer a truly customized product perfect for emerging applications such as: marketing collateral on-demand, personalized direct mail, versioned manuals, and beyond. This technology expands the possibilities by creating more effective marketing and products for your customers but does not require you to expand your budget. Additional special features of our installation of the HP Indigo Press 5000 is its exclusive HP Electroink Digital Printing Technology which offers high definition imaging up to 812 x 1624 dpi, HP Adaptive Screening allows for in-RIP sharpening of soft edges like process type and fine rules for greater definition, and IndiChrome - HP's expanded gamut printing technology which uses six process colors (orange and violet being the additional component colors) for accurate reproduction of a large number of spot colors and richer reproduction of saturated RGB imagery.

January 2005:

Garlich Printing Company Perfects Hybrid UV Capabilities

Garlich Printing has mastered the use of Hybrid UV Printing for a variety of specialty printing projects and effects. This technology is particularly effective in solving the problems of high-quality printing on plastic, static cling, and other non-absorptive materials and surfaces. As well, Hybrid UV allows us to achieve superior spot gloss/spot dull effects with very tight register and without the need for expensive specialty coating plates. In addition, Hybrid UV printing improves the look of printing on uncoated materials, reducing much of the loss of detail and color that results from absorption of ink into the paper. We are very excited to offer this technology in our full 40" format using one of our Heidelberg Speedmaster 102 presses.

August 2004:

Garlich Printing Company Adds State of the Art Ink Management System

Garlich Printing has installed a state-of-the-art ink management system on each of its highly automated presses. The Accel Ink Sentinel employs sonic monitoring, sophisticated software and a pneumatic injection system to use exactly the correct amount of ink necessary for each job. This minimizes the amount of waste ink and time necessary during clean-ups on press. As well, the Sentinel system accurately reports ink consumption for each job and allows Garlich Printing to maintain a clean pressroom environment.
