As a young man, most of Greg's time was spent in the water, or more accurately just slightly above it. As a former member of the USA Diving Team, Greg narrowly missed an opportunity to compete in the boycotted 1980 Summer Olympic Games. Under the Olympic Job Development Program, however, Greg secured a job with Citicorp and became one of their top mortgage producers in the Miami area.
In 1981, Greg returned to St. Louis and joined the family printing business, eventually becoming vice president of finance and administration at Garlich. In this role, Greg manages all the administrative tools and processes for both external and internal activities, ensuring the commitment to customer service throughout the organization.
Greg earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Miami in Florida (where in 1992 he was inducted into the UM Sports Hall of Fame), and an MBA from the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis. He is a former board member for the Printing Industries of St. Louis and Giant Steps of St. Louis – a special education school and therapy center for children with autism – and a current board member for Team Activities for Special Kids (TASK). He and his wife Lisa have one son and reside in Chesterfield. In addition to reading and yard work, the whole family loves to spend as much time as possible boating and water-skiing on Table Rock Lake in southern Missouri.
